Construction Update

Here is a quick little update regarding the current status of Nail Creek Pub & Brewery's construction.

As many of you may have noticed, the exterior of the barn out back that will house the brewery is nearly complete.  The color selection of green and yellow will be brought through the entire exterior and is meant to help brand the chosen logo colors.  The interior still has a way to go.

I am working with Don Ehre over at Boulder Construction getting the mechanical drawings made so that I can get everything past codes and the interior work can begin.  Don has been excellent to work with so far.

The bar area is just about finished being demolished.  My friend kieth and I were doing demo last weekend with Bach as background music.  I recommend Bach when demolishing, as his composing has a sinister element to it that can really fuel a 10 pound sledge.  After removing a few different ceilings the height of the first floor is about 9 feet.  Nine feet is way to high for a short guy like me to tough at a full jump.  I only tried once though as whenever I try stuff like that now I seem to pull a muscle is my abdomen.

The porch construction will begin on Monday the 8th and should conclude in a week or two.  I’m very excited about this as the porch has been a major eyesore since purchasing the house.

I will be replacing the exterior wood shakes soon.  Although I am not afraid of heights, I’m not looking forward to being on a 1 foot wide pick 30 something feet up in the air.  That’s a long way down.

Cheers,
Chris
